Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of CompFlash — the website, the web application and the browser extension. Using any of them means you accept these terms.
What CompFlash is, and what it is not
CompFlash estimates what a trading card is worth by finding recent sales of comparable cards and showing you the arithmetic.
It is not financial advice, a valuation, or an appraisal. Estimates are derived from historical sales. Card markets move, condition is subjective, and a comparable sale is a comparison rather than a prediction. No outcome or resale price is guaranteed, and we make no promise that you will profit. Every decision you make with the number is yours.
We also do not guarantee that an identification is correct. Where the software is not confident it will say so rather than guess, but a confident answer can still be wrong. Check anything that matters.
Your account
- You must be 18 or over.
- Give accurate information and keep your password to yourself.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One account per person. Do not share logins across a business — that is what the Shop plan is for.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- Automate or script the service beyond the features we provide, or work around plan limits.
- Resell, redistribute or republish comps data obtained through CompFlash.
- Use CompFlash in a way that breaks the terms of the auction platform you are watching.
- Attempt to access another user's account or data.
- Upload anything you do not have the right to upload.
The extension shows results in a panel of its own. It does not alter, reorder or restyle the site you are viewing, and it captures only when you ask it to unless you explicitly turn automatic capture on for a platform.
Plans, billing and limits
Current plans and prices are on the pricing section of our home page. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, through Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax we are required to collect.
- Every plan has a daily and a monthly scan limit. Reaching a limit pauses scanning until it resets; it does not incur a surprise charge.
- You can upgrade at any time, and the change applies immediately.
- If we change a price, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it affects your renewal.
Cancellation and refunds
- Cancel any time, from your billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then.
- 14-day refund on your first paid period. If CompFlash is not for you, email us within 14 days of your first charge and we will refund it in full, no reasoning required.
- If we break it, we refund it. If a fault on our side leaves the service substantially unusable for an extended period, ask and we will refund that period.
- Beyond that, payments for periods already served are not refunded. Renewals can be avoided by cancelling before the renewal date.
Refund requests go to hello@compflash.com and we aim to respond within two business days.
Data sources
Comps come from sources we are permitted to use, and every result names the source it came from. Some sources allow us to show you individual sales; others permit only aggregates, in which case the product tells you that rather than hiding it. We do not scrape marketplaces.
Your content
Images you scan remain yours. We do not store them. Corrections and comps you contribute may be used to improve results for everyone; they are not attributed to you publicly.
Availability
We do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue something you are paying for, we will refund the unused portion.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, CompFlash is provided as is, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. We are not liable for money lost on a purchase you made, or chose not to make, using our estimates. This is the same point as the first section, stated in the language liability clauses use.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending your account
You can delete your account whenever you like, from settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why first.
Changes to these terms
We will email you before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use CompFlash afterwards means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States.
